Lexus RX Review

Do you want to have a luxury ride on a car that’s easy to ride and comfortable, too? If so, Lexus RX may fit into the picture. It’s a great value for your money and it looks luxurious. The car model is well constructed and reliable, making it one of the top choices among car shoppers in the SUV category.

What’s good?

  • Flawless interior and exterior
  • Fully redesigned
  • Improved horsepower
  • Increased transmission speed

What’s bad?

  • It still lack 3-row seating

How does it fare?

Let’s start with styling.  The latest model shows off its most radical departure since Lexus was launched. It has a conservative style in the history of the brand. The look is astounding with its aggressive lines and new appearance. The new model, when it comes to styling, is youthful, sport and futuristic that other models from the brand did not have. If you’re a fan of the brand, then you should prepare yourself for this new departure from the luxury crossover’s old appearance.

When it comes to the interior, the latest model has been fully redesigned and there are certain changes, especially with its cabin that looks inconsequential versus the new body shape. Still, there are many new items inside the cabin and so much to look forward. Lexus RX skips the generic central control stack and changes it into a well-designed unit that features top wood textures. Its steering wheel is also sportier and thicker, no matter if you are getting the sport-tuned F Sport version or the standard model. It also has a gauge cluster that sports a handsome look, which is reconfigurable on specific versions.

You may be asking its upholstery and trim. And well, the brand did a great job on this department. It has plush leather, which is comfortable, and it has high quality stitched dashboard to notice.  But one major problem with its interior is still it does not have 3-row seating, and this is something that Lexus may have to look into if they’re planning to develop a new version of this car in the future. For most shoppers, they might be opting for the car’s rival, including the Infiniti QX60 that can offer them a third row.

The new Lexus RX did not go too far when it comes to power train changes.  But the RX 350 has an extra 25HP coming from its 3.5-liter, making it have a total of 295, while the RX450h has an increased bump to 308 from 295. The new version also has an increased automatic transmission speed of eight (8) from the old version’s 6-speed.

The Lexus RX is predictable and smooth not mentioning it is stable and comfortable.  And then visibility isn’t also an issue, considering the big mirrors and its blind spot system. On the other hand, the F Sport model is better for handing under normal driving conditions. And in terms of driving dynamics, the F Sport hybrid model might be the best among all RXs.

Overall, the 2016 Lexus RX obviously has undergone expensive development and updates. It is quite impressive in every aspect in the SUV category with its smoothness, equipment and appointments. The new sporty look, especially with the F Sport model, is one of the best innovations that Lexus has introduced so far in the competition.
