The Chimera watch is said to be the new dimension in time.   The watch displays seconds, minutes, hours and date at 3 o’clock. It also has 38 hours of power reserve, truly remarkable. But if you’re shopping around for a decent, stylish watch, this one may be worth considering.  Still, you may need some guide before buying it, so check out the following for your reference.

U-BOAT Chimera Reviewed

The watch weighs about 185 grams, which isn’t something to notice when you’re wearing it.  But aside from its lightweight make, you can also notice its bronze case, which may be one of its most attractive features. However, how it will age cannot be told; perhaps, it will be based on the level of abuse it will get as well as it will be dependent on the owner’s location.

If you’ll look at it closely, you will notice that its dial comes with layers, adding some depth to the model. Its lower dial is in a matt bronze color, while tobacco color for its upper dial, giving the model a vintage feel and look. In any case, the color combination works pretty well with the bronze concept of the watch. Its minute- and hour- hand come with a hand-brushed finished on the watch surface, making the Chimera timeless.

The Chimera model has an external tube system, which can keep it together, while its shield says it is a limited watch edition from U-BOAT. The model also has finishing for the mid case, tubes, lugs and bezel. However, its satin brush looks to be in different directions per component of the watch, demonstrating the keen attention to detail that the maker has invested on this limited edition timepiece.

You will also love its strap, which somehow looks thin and small for the piece. But perhaps the maker has considered adding that look from the 1800s when straps were smaller for the watch to give it that classic appeal.  But even if the strap is like how it is in this model, it is also one of the most comfortable of all straps you would be wearing.  Additionally, Chimera comes with a matching buckle in bronze.

And when you take a look at the case back, which has a perlage finish, is just impressive. It has been engraved by the maker, although you might be distracted to see and read the case diameter. It has crystal on the back, having a smoke effect, perfectly matching the bronze color of its case, while not ruining the view of the watch’s movement.

The watch has the ETA/Valjoux 7750 based movement; its rotor movement and it has blued screws and made out of silver.  Its plated movement has been carefully thought of, and the ETA/Valjoux is efficient and durable, so you can expect that your watch will be performing for years to come.

Overall, the Limited Edition Chimera is worth the money you will be spending for it. It has perfect colors and solid built to last for years. It is a high quality timepiece you may consider if you’re looking for a long-lasting watch that also looks stylish and sleek all year round.
